Mechanic Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on vehicles or equipment
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks
• Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve faults

Mechanic Qualifications and Skills and

• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
• Ability to use specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair software
• Good understanding of vehicle or machinery systems and components

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive or mechanical repair
• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or in a similar role
• Certification (e.g., ASE) preferred but not required
